Very helpful and caring from the receptionists through to the vets. Sadly we’ve had to take Mabel there a lot but they are always thorough and get the job done. The first time we took her there she was very ill and they recognised immediately that she needed a specialist vet and I have no doubt they saved her life.
Every interaction we have had has been fabulous. I am so grateful to have trusted vets we can rely on. There is great information giving and shared decision making, in an artful and nuanced way. Great listening skills and collaborative, authentic and equal approach.
From the first phone call to the great reception staff, everything is faultless. I just wish my experiences of human care were this good!
Cobie has been our family vet for over 20 years, seeing us through 4 dogs and 2 cats. Cobie & all his team are just brilliant, the care they give is second to none. All our family use Cobie VetCare and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
We have been with CobieVetcare even before he opened up near the Enterprise centre before that we were customers from his location on seaside. We have been visiting Cobie for over 20 years. He took excellent care of both our doggies. Our beloved Jack Russell who was diagnosed with Cushings disease, she lived 13 years. Our Patterdale Yorkie mix has been under Cobie’s care for her entire life she and is 11 years old at the moment. We are extremely satisfied with the kind and gentle care given to our beloved pets and highly recommend CobieVetcare.
I have been really happy with the care and attention provided to my dogs from the Cobi vets, I would totally recommend them to pet owners.
We highly recommend Cobie Vet Care. We moved to Eastbourne over a year ago with our older dog and Cobie Vet Care was recommended to us. She consistently received great care from the excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable Team. This week the time came to say goodbye to our girl. Claire and Louise came to our house and ensured her passing was compassionate, dignified, and respectful. Thank you to all at Cobie Vet Care.
I'd like to give it no stars but unfortunately it needs a star to be able to be posted. I took my dog to Cobie's to have an open wound on her face looked at as it never seemed to heal. The vet took one quick look, declared he hadn't a clue and said she would need a biopsy because it could be cancer. He then looked in her mouth and said her teeth needed a clean under aesthetic and said he could do the biopsy and the teeth cleaning at the same time. Alarm bells rang in my head because teeth cleaning is very dirty and infection could get into the open area on her face. Because my dog is from Macedonia he said she would also need a blood test because dogs from abroad where bringing in a disease that causes miscarriage in female staff assisting in the operation. I asked how much and he said £50 so I agreed to the blood test. As soon as he had done it, he said she would be clear because as I'd already had her for three years she would have shown signs by now of the illness the test was for. Nice way to earn £50. I asked numerous times for the results of the blood test but have never received them. Still wondering if it was ever done. Over the next three weeks I kept asking for a quote for the biopsy. None ever came. A very vague quote of £500 to £1200 was given for teeth cleaning. I said I wouldn't be agreeing to that. The vet also said she had a slight heart murmur but no treatment necessary at the moment. After numerous emails and telephone calls and still no costing for the biopsy I decided to see a truly professional vet elsewhere. What a difference. She immediately knew what the problem was, reassured me it wasn't the least bit cancerous and cream was prescribed that totally healed her face. On inspecting her teeth, she said they definitely don't need to be done under aesthetic as ultrasound treatment would clean them. There is also no heart murmur at all. Would I ever recommend Cobie vets. NO. What I am doing is telling friends of my experience. They were a total waste of £132.40
I had to write this after reading a review from two days ago regarding the owner of the vet dismissing a customer's concerns that her lab was having seizures. I was also at the end of that dismissivenes when my rescue cat had a stroke. I took her in, the owner injected her with something and she got better after a couple of weeks. Shortly after, she had some boosters carried out by the owner. When I got her home, she fell over and was pulling herself across the floor. I took her straight back to the vet, where she was able to stand, but her back legs were splayed and she was unsteady. The owner said she was fine and that she was probably 'dazed' from the boosters. I said it was more than that, and that I thought she'd had another stroke, a mini one. He reiterated that there was nothing wrong with her, but I didn't give up. Eventually, he said he'd take her blood pressure. He said it was "through the roof". I was quite horrified that if I hadn't stood my ground, he would have sent my cat away with untreated and dangerously high blood pressure. He put her on meds that had never been tested on cats at my cat's level (info is in the safety leaflet) and a few months later my cat went blind. I later took her to see a specialist whose report stated that the cause of blindness was most likely "out of control hypertension". If the lab owner reads this, I know how you feel!
Would never ever go here again. It's taken me to long to write a review as it's been an awful 18 months. Registered my Labrador puppy here in October 2023 when he was about 12 weeks old. From the beginning of 2024 I was telling their main vet who owns the practice I thought my puppy was having seizures, I even showed numerous videos of the episodes. I was told over and over again it was puppy dreaming, even when I said he just drops to the floor and starts having jerking movements I was still told he was dreaming. I also took him to them just after may bank holiday due to him getting over heated just by going in the garden for 2-3 mins for a wee and having to see out of hours vets, I was again told this was normal when I took him to cobies after out of hours as he still wasn't right. I said time and time again about him clearly having some kind of gastric issues but I was just told he's a labrador, he's likely eaten something he shouldn't have.
I had had enough so registered him at another local practice in May last year and at his first appointment an urgent referral was sent to a neuro specialist practice, he had the appointment within a few days at just 9 months old. To date my boy has had 10 rounds of chemotherapy to suppress his immune system. At his first neuro specialist appointment he was given an anesthetic and an emergency MRI scan where fluid was found around his brain. The videos I showed the neuro specialist were confirmed to be seizures, these were the EXACT videos I showed Cobie himself but was dismissed. Not only did they dismiss the fact they were seizures, they missed the fact he was very very unwell. He will have life long conditions. He has immune mediated meningomyelitis, immune mediated polyarthritis, paroxysmal dyskinesia and a sleep disorder and to top it off chrons disease. His immune mediated meningomyelitis causes seizures and his epilepsy. Absolute epic fail on cobies part. No one knows their pet like their owner, cobies need to remember that. I'm lucky I still have my boy but had he had a faster diagnosis then he would have got help sooner and although it wouldn't have cured him, it would have meant he suffered for less time before getting help. Absolutely no compassion, no listening to owners and I dread to think how many other people have been dismissed and maybe it hasn't been as positive outcome as it has been for my boy
