Hastings Vets4Pets Ltd is part of the Vets4Pets group, and the website describes it as a locally owned practice with a modern, well‑equipped facility. It’s set up for routine care and procedures (for example neutering and dentistry), plus on-site diagnostics (in‑house lab work, X‑ray and ultrasound) and surgery (operating theatre), with a stated special interest in orthopaedics (including knee surgery) from the practice owner.
In the latest reviews available to us, owners describe specific, practical touches such as post‑procedure update calls during a cat neuter, an aftercare pack being provided, and compassionate handling around euthanasia (including a condolence card and forget‑me‑not seeds). There’s also at least one complaint about being charged an “emergency” fee to be seen sooner, described as feeling impersonal and money‑driven—so expectations around urgent-slot pricing may be worth clarifying upfront.

I took my boy cat Tommy in for a neuter and the staff were very professional and took great care of him. They were informative, knowledgable, very attentive and caring. The after care pack was very helpful and it was a very good overall experience. They gave me all the correct information and phoned me to keep me updated. Thank you :)

I am writing this review to sing the praises of Tabita, a truly empathetic and excellent vet. Our dog, Pebble, was having unexplained abdominal pain and in agony. We are with another vet, who close at weekends, and we went to Vets 4 Pets as an emergency. Tabita examined Pebbles thoroughly and gave her IV fluids and helped us control her pain. She carried out essential blood tests, including electrolytes and pancreas. Pebbles has to be closely monitored, as she has Addisons. Effectively, when we brough Pebbles in, we thought she was dying. When we picked her up on Saturday and Sunday, Pebbles pain had been well managed and she was hydrated and in less pain. Tabita was even prepared, despite a busy list, to set time aside for emergency surgery, if required. It was not. We took Pebbles, a very old dog, into our registered vets who immediately operated. Earlier, they had identified a foreign object - which turned out to be a staple which had loosened itself from her stomach wall (an operation two years ago). The loose staple had created massive inflammation and my poor dog's liver had become glued to her stomach. No wonder she was in pain. Tabitha wanted an update - here it is! You are a really caring and excellent vet Tabita, and deserve recognition. You need to make breaks for yourself, though, as you work through your lunchbreaks. We met Tabita before with our now, sadly deceased dog, Phoebe, and thought highly of her then! Thank you and thank you again.

The staff at vets4pets are great and I had a really positive experience. that said I do wish management would ease up a-bit on pushing for reviews, it takes away from the natural genuine vibe when customers are reminded multiple times

I have been with vets for pets Hastings for over 9 years now, my spaniel at a year old started showing signs of not being very well, we had skin scrapes, allergy testing and then treatment, he has been visiting the team there every month since for his allergy injection, he loves his monthly visit to vets for pets and is always greeted with lots of kisses and cuddles, he has also had a lump removed there, which luckily turned out to be nothing serious and I was put at ease by the staff who talked me through everything, they dealt with all the insurance details for me and follow up care was amazing, I have unfortunately had cats pts at vets for pets and the compassion for my cat and myself was second to none, we now have a new kitten and I had no hesitation in registering him with the Hastings branch, he has been in for injections, flea and worming treatment and is booked in for neutering very soon, throughout my 9 years with vets for pets both myself and more importantly my furry family have been treated with so much respect by all the vets, vet nurses and receptionist team they have gone out of their way to get me appointments to fit around my family’s schedule, last min appointments and even during covid they continued the great care for my pets, I will be forever grateful for the kindness they have shown my babies and they have been put at ease during their consultation. I would like to give a special mention to martina, she sees Jasper ( my spaniel) most of the time, he absolutely adores her, she is so kind and caring and always accepts sloppy kisses it’s a pleasure to bring him into her, she is a real credit to your team, keep up the good work vets for pets Hastings xxx

Vets4Pets - a nationwide big veterinary company ... NEVER AGAIN. The most impersonal company one may wish to deal with. Here's my goodbye (and complain) email (and now this online 0 starred review) to them ... HEADER: A very unhappy (EX) customer Dear Vets4Pets customer service I am writing in order to express my profound disappointment with the service we received today at your Hastings (St Leonards-On-Sea) branch. This morning our beloved pet cat Dylan had some of what we thought were respiratory issues (wheezing and dry heaving) so we obviously got worried and decided to take her to be seen by a veterinary, and, since we have been your customers for the last two years, we obviously took Dylan to be seen by your medical staff in your St Leonard’s branch - despite your opening times actually are one hour later than other veterinary surgeries in the area. That’s because we thought we were going to be treated as valued customers, but only to discover that we were being charged £190 for the “emergency” visit. We were told that you only had two doctors working in your branch and therefore our visit was going to be treated as an “emergency” unless we would wait a few hours to get onto the next ‘available’ standard spot. We were then charged £225 for a ten minutes “emergency” visit, including £30 of medications. We were worried about Dylan so we decided to go ahead and pay the £190 “emergency” fee: yet, the process made me realise once and for all that the way you deal with your ‘customers’ is very impersonal and only money orientated. It definitely felt that way. I felt treated like a paying ‘impersonal’ ‘someone’ and was very disappointed by your dealings. Hence, we have now decided to change veterinary surgery (who DON’T charge “emergency” fees) and you have from now on lost our customs FOREVER. Yours but still very disappointed

What absolutely lovely staff! My daughters very much loved and first pet hamster had to be put to sleep - all the staff we came into contact with were so understanding and kind regarding how heartbroken my daughter was!! We have just received a card, poem and forget - me - not seeds through the post! So lovely! I highly recommend vets for pets! Thank you all.
