Our Veterina

I am leaving this review because my dog’s health and my own dignity have been completely disregarded here. - Unprofessional & discriminatory: I am disabled with Tourette’s syndrome. When I called deeply distressed — fighting for proper answers for my dog — staff interrupted me, dismissed me, and hung up the phone. They did not listen, they did not make any adjustments for my condition, and they cut me off simply because I challenged what they were doing. That is discrimination. - Pushing unnecessary £2,000 surgery — dangerous over‑correction risk: They tried to force major eye surgery on my dog. Their own head vet came in, had a private conversation outside the room, then returned and said the £2,000 procedure was "needed." I sought an independent second opinion from a completely different vet in a different town — and was told clearly: this surgery is NOT needed. Worse still — if they had carried it out, they would have removed skin that exists to keep the eye moist. Over‑correcting in this way would leave the eye permanently dry — causing ongoing pain, permanent damage, and the need for even more corrective surgery and expense further down the line. - Misdiagnosis — using symptoms to sell surgery: My dog has mucus crusting along the rims of her eyes — it sticks, so when she opens them, it scratches the surface. Instead of seeing this as the cause and treating the mucus, the vet looked at the scratching and said it was her eyelashes scraping the eye — and used that to justify surgery. She ignored everything else I was telling her. - Dangerous steroid cycle — the trap: My dog had an underlying issue — an invader in her system. The vet got me to agree to steroids. I researched what they should have told me: steroids suppress the immune system — they numb the symptoms so it looks better, but they let the actual problem grow stronger underneath. When the steroids wear off, the itching comes back far worse — and you’re pushed right back to ask for more steroids to quiet it down again. Repeat this cycle and eventually, yes — secondary issues like yeast will take hold. I saw what was happening and I stopped it before it got there. That’s why I know this pattern. - Withheld proper treatment — chose the dangerous option: She had ear drops that have helped my dog before — but she wouldn’t give them to me this time. Instead she pushed the far more dangerous steroids. That is not care — that is choosing the stronger, riskier drug over the targeted treatment that actually works — and dismissing me when I know my own dog best. - Ignoring everything else — she itches EVERYWHERE: I told her — neck, ears, forehead, between the eyes. Take the cone off and she chews holes in her own skin — everywhere. This is not just eyelashes. This is a whole‑body issue. She ignored it all. I live with this dog — I see her every minute — and my observations were brushed aside completely. - Untrained, guessing, overcharging: I spent £700 in a single month alone. They have no specialists on‑site, they are guessing with my dog’s care, and they keep charging repeatedly without ever getting to the root of the problem or giving me clear answers. When I pointed this out — they hung up. For this specific reason, I’m sorry, but Our Vetrina is dangerous. Do your self a favour just ring someone else your dog will thank you for it and so will the bank RCVS Code of Professional Conduct: (You must not allow your professional judgement to be influenced by financial or commercial interests.) My dog's welfare must come first — not revenue targets, not league tables, not bonus payments.

Very sympathetic, courteous and professional as I brought my 18+ years old cat to her journey over rainbow bridge

Having had a bad experience at another local vets, it was like a breath of fresh air going to Veterina, Lubos was so very professional and attentive with Mazie, who normally is the most nervous dog at the vets. I will definitely be going back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to one and all.

Veterina is a fantastic place to take your pets, they are warm and friendly they are all caring too.

The best vets ever!

Lubos and his whole team are so professional, kind and very supportive. So happy to have a local vet practice that actually cares. Thank you so much.

Thank you Kasia and Lubos for looking after Miki so well xxx
